We're here to answer your questions and provide any information that you need.

Yes, we are in-network with several health insurance plans. We encourage all clients to verify their individual benefits and coverage prior to starting services. This will help you understand your coverage and be aware of any out-of-pocket costs. To help you when contacting your insurance carrier, please see the following questions outlined below:

  • Do you have mental health benefits?
  • What is your deductible? Do you have co-insurance? What will your potential co-pay be per session?
  • Is there a maximum number of sessions covered per plan coverage year? What is your plan coverage year?
  • What is the payment policy for an out-of-network provider?

The amount of time you spend per session is primarily based on your specific needs. However, on average, most sessions typically last around 45-55 minutes. Your initial comprehensive assessment will last approximately 75-90 minutes.

In many cases, therapy proves to be most effective when you take an active role during and in between sessions. Therapy results are never guaranteed. However, we typically find that the more you put into therapy the more you get out of therapy. The tools that we offer have worked for many others and are evidence- based. In our experience, most of our clients who find success in their therapy journey are those who willingly put in the work in cultivating a sense of awareness and in taking responsibility for their actions.

We are not qualified/licensed to prescribe medication but we are happy to collaborate with a psychiatrist or prescribing physician for the purpose of your care.

Therapy can last anywhere from weeks, to months, or even years if necessary, because treatment is designed to address the unique needs of each client at Bennett Counseling and Wellness. On average, clients are typically in treatment for 3-6 months.

Yes, we provide both in-person and telehealth counseling. For our telehealth sessions, we are working with our current clients via a HIPAA compliant teleconferencing platform. Please check with your health insurance plan to ensure telehealth services are covered.

If you are a minor—under the age of 18—then you will need a parent’s permission to be able to attend therapy. Therapy is treatment, and treatment requires consent. Although, we will need your parents consent for you to be in therapy, we will work with them to keep your session confidential.

Although we use evidenced-based assessments in our therapy sessions and will provide a diagnosis for the purpose of insurance, we are not qualified to conduct psychological testing for school, work, or disability.

As therapists working in private practice, we do not provide 24-hour crisis intervention or care. Any immediate concerns should be addressed by calling 911. However, in the event of suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and/or psychosis that presents during a therapy session, we will contact the necessary authorities and arrange for safety. Similarly, if you are especially distressed and wish to change your scheduled appointment time or wish to schedule more than one appointment per week, we are happy to accommodate these requests, within reason, during normal business hours.
